“I try to glimpse what is in the quiet and the hushed.  A shape that lives in the shadows off a hidden trail; or a rhythm that echos from objects locked in a rocky landscape; or hues that unite their energies when touched by different lights in our universe.   I hope my ability to frame this beautiful world and a hand to photograph it beyond the limits of the human eye, brings you joy.”

Ray Ellis is a voting member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with his work as owner / director / cinematographer of Footpath Pictures, Inc.  Footpath focused on films and stories involving health and human need, the environment and education.   His other love is capturing still images which lead him to start Many Rivers Photography highlighting the landscapes and nightscapes of the wilderness.

Long-exposure images of dark skies, stars, and the Milky Way. Created in remote locations where night remains largely untouched, these photographs reveal the quiet complexity of the nocturnal landscape.
